Rachael
Warwick
The British country music scene has never been known for its glamour
but Rachael Warwick looks set to change that. A UK-based artist
has never made it big in Nashville and Rachael is determined to
change that too.
The daughter of a music manager, the Northampton-based
singer first visited Tennessee when she was 13 and fell in love
with country music. Her friends laughed at her musical taste but
she has grown up with a sexy look and contemporary pop and country
mix that has been turning heads across the Atlantic.
“I made a six track CD just to test the
market with American radio stations and they have been really
accepting,” says Rachael, who has just returned from Nashville,
where she recorded the remainder of her forthcoming album, The
Maverick. The taster CD also proved a hit with local DJs in the
UK, where Warwick recently picked up two Country Radio Awards.
Rachael, who will host Nashville’s Global
Artist Night in June, began her singing career after persuading
her drama teacher to put on a school production of Grease. Says
Rachael: “It was the first time I’d got up on stage
and sang and it all went from there.”
